I wanted to post a few examples of the pedal car designs that have been executed by students in the Product Design and Engineering Technology program.

The first one is by Melisa Mudek who is currently in 4th semester. She designed this car as the final project in 2nd semester. The students were required to use surfacing, sheet metal, and weldments in the design. They were also required to have a full set of assembly prints.

As you can see she succeeded in meeting all the parameters.

Kid’s Car Designs

Second semester engineering students had the task of designing a kid’s car. The car had to weigh under 40 lbs, use purchased parts where possible, and have an organic skin (created using surfacing). The five designs, all in SolidWorks, were very different, and I believe should be shared. So, I am asking these students to share their designs here.
