Commencement
Graduation and commencement are two separate events. Graduation is the process by which NTI officially confers a degree to a learner, while commencement is the ceremony which publicly recognizes those learners who have graduated.
Graduation
Students qualified to graduate have:
- attained a cumulative GPA of ≥2.0 for all required course work,
- earned 64 semester credits, and
- fulfilled all financial obligations to NTI.
Commencement
Students enrolled in the final course(s) required to complete their degree may participate in the commencement ceremony usually scheduled on the last day of the term. Participation in commencement does not assure degree conferral. Degrees are conferred when all of the above requirements have been met.
A reception with punch and cookies will be held for graduates, families and friends immediately following the ceremony. The ceremony runs approximately one hour. A cap and gown are required and provided.
Several hotels are available within a 2 mile radius for visiting family and friends.
