NTI Profile
NTI was established as a private drafting school in 1957. NTI trains students for careers in the fields of Product Design & Engineering Technology or Architectural Building Technology. We are an accredited school and member of the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC, Arlington, VA).
Students receive an intense education. They spend 3.5 hours a day, 4 days a week, for 60 weeks in a CAD lab (that’s 840 hours). Architecture students learn AutoCad® and Revit®, and engineering students learn SolidWorks® and Pro/Engineer®. Students also take related technical courses, math (basic math through college algebra), physics (statics and strength of materials), communications, ethics and history as it relates to innovation in our society. As a result, students graduate knowing much more than software manipulation.
Many NTI graduates have jobs in their chosen fields before they graduate.
Since students attend NTI in the morning OR in the afternoon 4 days each week, they often work half-time in their chosen field during the week. Many employers often hire students after their first semester. This gives both the student and the employer the opportunity to learn more about each other. Half of all these students are hired full-time after graduation.
If you are an employer interested in having a design student as a part-time employee, please post a job (see left side of page).
