Expectations
NTI focuses on education for employment. As such, NTI sets standards for students to align with industry:
- Students are to present themselves professionally in dress and manner.
- Students are expected to treat instructors, peers and their environment with respect.
- Students are to be dependable, arriving each day prepared and ready for work.
- Students are to find, interpret and organize (e.g., binder) pertinent information from multiple sources for current and fututre reference.
- Students are to analyze problems and develop alternative solutions, rather than just ask for answers.
- Students are to prioritize and organize resources and responsibilities to meet multiple deadlines.
- Students must create positive relationships that foster collaboration and teamwork.
- Students must pay attention to, makes sense of and accurately interpret what is said.
- Students are to provide and accept feedback in a professional manner.
- Students are to consistently produce a uniform product that meets customer’s needs.
- The quality and quantity of a student’s work are to continually improve as new knowledge and skills are aquired.
- Students should plan to work outside of class an average 12 hours per week to complete reading, research, and writing assignments; worksheets; homework; and take home tests.
