NTI grants appropriate credit for previous education, credit by exam or experience.

• Previous Education
  NTI accepts credits for courses in general education subjects taken at other colleges and through Advanced Placement (AP) programs in high schools. To earn credit, a grade of C or better is required. NTI records the grade with a T (Transfer).
• Credit by Exam
  NTI also accepts credits earned via the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DSST (Dantes). To earn credit, students must earn a score equal to or greater than the ACE Recommended Score. NTI records the grade with a CR (Credit by Exam).
• Experience
  Students who demonstrate college-level knowledge and skill can earn credits toward graduation. Those interested can contact the CAO (see Contact Information) to learn more about the process.

In all cases: a) students must request that transcripts or test results be sent to NTI, b) no accepted credits will be calculated into the GPA, and c) the school year will not change in length.

Although every institution of higher learning can accept credit transfers, not all do. Each institution has the right to accept or reject credits earned elsewhere. The same is true of credits earned at NTI. Although many colleges have accepted our credits over the years, students planning to transfer to a 4-year college should remember that credits earned here are not universally transferable. Other institutions may not accept credits from occupational-focused institutions like NTI.
